About

Hello, I’m Rev. Beth Perry, a church consultant offering a variety of services to congregations and individuals!

For example, I offer Safe Sanctuary or Safe Church training – teaching congregations how to reduce the risk of child abuse in the church.  I consult with churches on writing and editing policies, giving individual congregations situation-specific help. I also train congregations’ workers with children and youth. And all of these trainings can be held in person at local churches but training is also available online through BeADisciple.com!

In addition, I teach religion courses at the University of Phoenix’s Jersey City Campus and at the College of New Rochelle. I’m a substitute preacher at various churches in the New York City area. I’m the author of a text-book for pastors and laity called Storytelling: Beyond the Sermon and a devotional book called The Study: Spiritual Action in Daily Life. I am also the Pastoral Counselor for Chelsea Community Church in Manhattan.

I lead workshops on Christian Meditation Practices, Christian Women Mystics, and other spiritual topics. And I also lead programs for individuals and local congregations — everything from a Women’s Prayer Breakfast here in Queens to personal spiritual retreats via FaceTime to text message Bible Studies!

In short, I’m very busy! And I’d love to include you in my ministries! You can follow this blog to find out what I’m offering or you can contact me with your specific interests: revbethperry@gmail.com. And you can subscribe to my seasonal newsletter on MailChimp.

Rev. Perry has Privilege of Call in the United Church of Christ and was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 1998. She and her husband, actor and singer Tony Perry, live in New York City.

  1. Hi Beth:
I don’t know if you remember me, but I took a course of yours through beadisciple.com called “Rediscovering Our Spiritual Gifts.” I truly enjoyed that course and think back to it often. I am interested in possibly taking another of your courses in the future-the one about starting a digital ministry. I currently have started a blog which is a lifestyle blog, but I also incorporate scripture/devotional type posts frequently. I will include the link in case you would like to check it out. Thanks for your blog posts….I enjoy reading your blog. Hope you are well.

    Sincerely,
    Debbie Ross http://debbiethisandthat.blogspot.com/

    • Hi, Debbie! Thank you – I am well and I hope you are, too!

It’s funny but I’m leading one of the Spiritual Gifts workshops right now. I’m not sure when the next date will be for the Digital Ministry workshop but I will definitely let you know – and check out your website!
