I come from a proud line of camera-phobes! In one picture of my father a great-grandchild is holding him in place in the lawn chair while my mother snapped the picture… Pictures of me as a child usually involve some sort of squinting and a general dis-ease with the whole process… And you can see that on many of my other ancestors, and at least one of my descendants….
But the pandemic – and before that, online teaching – has a way of pulling us along, doesn’t it? Who cares whether we like the way we look when it is the only way to get together? And who cares how we look when the important thing is the work that is before us? The work that will be done and accomplished in the range of that small green light!
Last week, I had a great recorded Zoom conversation with the two other facilitators in the Women’s Ministries certification program. We talked and laughed and groaned and sighed over the program and the world around us. And since then, I’ve been editing videos…. nine of them so far!
I think by now, I might just be able to recite everything we said! Which would be good because there were some real gems in there!

No, I am not any more enamored with how I look on film than my dad was or the childhood me was… But I am willing to go a long way for the women that we talk about, that we engage with, and that we are in this course!
